Vampire Flower

ccooony: I watched a web drama called Vampire Flower and I personally liked it. There was a total of six episodes and each episode was only about 12 minutes. Even though it seemed really short and the story progressed quickly, I still enjoyed watching it. The story this drama was based on was actually given the nickname as a kind of Korean “Twilight”, and I’m assuming it’s probably because it has the element of a vampire falling in love with a human girl.

Starring A-JAX’s Jaehyung and actress Kim Ga Eun, the story follows vampire Louis (played by Jaehyung) on his quest to find the Vampire Flower which would enable the vampire who finds it to become a vampire lord and the human girl Seoyoung (played by Kim Ga Eun) who gets caught up in his quest and with whom he eventually falls in love with.

Episode 1 Summary: In the very first episode at the very beginning within the first minute we are introduced to the main characters as we see Seoyoung in some sort of an underground tunnel walking quickly away from what seems to be someone who is pursuing her. Before any harm is able to come to her, Louis appears and defeats her pursuers while she gets away and he finds out that they were sent from someone named Ashwel.

We’re brought back to a high school setting where Seoyoung is woken up by her friend wearing a vampire mask and after she tells him to get rid of it, they both head to a flower shop which was revealed to have been previously owned by Seoyoung’s mom. While there, her finger gets cut by a flower and a drop of her blood falls to the ground. Shortly after, she leaves the store just as Louis enters. As he walks through the store he catches scent of Seoyoung’s blood from the drop that fell onto the floor and classifies her as the “one that smells golden”.

Back at his own home, Louis talks about her with his two bodyguards Akan and Baekhan (played by fellow A-JAX members Hyojoon and Seungyub respectively) and he decides that she might be able to help them find the Vampire Flower they are looking for so he sends the both of them out to go find her. They find out where she lives after following her and her friend to her house from school and that she lives alone. Seoyoung sends her friend away, but when the door bell rings shortly after she opens it and yells at the person at the door thinking that it is her friend, but it is actually Louis at the door, who she recognizes as the one who saved her from the dangerous situation that was at the beginning of the episode.

Without a word he enters her home and looks around and she soon finds out after seeing the red color change in his eyes that he is a vampire. Initially freaked out, she states that she’s going to call the police and tries to get away, but is no match for his telekinesis and teleporting abilities. Demanding to know what he wants with her, Louis reveals that he wants to find the Vampire Flower which humans had stolen 150 years ago.

The second episode picks up from where the first episode left off, with Louis revealing that he wants to find the Vampire Flower. Seoyoung has no idea what it is but he tells her she has to find it. He forces her to sign a contract essentially to become “enslaved” to him during the duration of time needed to search for the flower but tells her that because of this she will be under his protection. During this interaction, a necklace identical to the one Louis is wearing appears around her neck.

We’re then taken to the next scene of Seoyoung leaving school to head back home and as she leaves she discovers the school security guard is a vampire, and bumps into another guy named Reka (played by A-JAX’s Hyeongkon) who also happens to be a vampire. Once she gets home she finds that Louis and his two bodyguard Akan and Baekhan are moving into her house for convenience and Louis says that this just means that she should try to find the flower faster. They both spend time together looking for the flower despite not knowing what it looks like or what kind it would be, only knowing that if they come across it, Louis will be able to recognize it.

He reveals to Seoyoung that the possessor of it will become the ruler of the vampire world, although he himself is not interested in becoming the ruler. He later meets up with Reka who reveals to him that Ashwel is currently targeting young students which prompts Louis to tell Seoyoung that they need to become more urgent in their search and there is no time to lose. While back at school Seoyoung constantly researches different flowers until she declares that she’s found it and rushes out of the classroom. It’s now nighttime and as she is happy over having found what she is looking for, Seoyoung hears a girl screaming and Louis who happened to be around the same area hears it too and rushes off to where the sound is coming from…

Note: I only recapped all of episode 1 and a portion of episode 2! If anyone would like me to recap the rest just let me know! Otherwise, I’ll leave it as is! 🙂
